...a funny thing happened on the way to the Forum.
Well, to be honest, nothing funny happened really, apart from a bit of rain. But we did visit the Forum in Rome, played a fun game of "avoid having a photo taken with a Gladiator" in the shadow of the Colosseum, walked to La Bocca della Verita, left La Bocca della Verita with both hands, which just goes to show what a lot cobblers that is, but I'm not going to go into detail here as to how I know...
St Peter's was visited, nobody in our party attacked any man in a dress, although I did repress the urge to poke my tongue out at a monk on more than one occassion.
The Spanish steps were numerous, they went up AND down, which was nice.
But I think the most spectacular event in my humble opinion (or IMHO as the lazy ones tend to say) was the roosting of clouds of starlings in the evening, truly amazing (to those who are easily pleased by nature).
2009 is drawing to a close, and November/December were wonderful months for many reasons. Brentford are performing cheekily well, Quo were very good x2, Roy Wood as support at Wembley another highlight, Ister's debut with The Stabilisers was excelent and future giggage is recommended, and my first trip to a gig with my daughter (Howesey #1) to see the very enjoyable Paramore at Wembley was fantastic, despite London Overground's attempts to scupper our journey home, thanks are due to the man who had his i-phone plus relevent app(lication)s.
But hey, listen, I'm looking forward to next year, I'm hopeful for us all, not sure why but sometimes this optimism just has to be accepted...
Special wishes to Sav, Ister, Romo, Bob and Stray.
Luv'n'ugs
